Cemvision is a growing company on a mission to decarbonize cement, one of the world’s most urgent climate challenges, accounting for 8% of global CO2 emissions. We’re a team of cement and electrification experts, researchers, supply-chain specialists, creatives, and innovators from the traditional industry, academia, and the hyper-growth tech world. We’re proud to be backed by Breakthrough Energy Fellows (founded by Bill Gates in 2015), Norrsken Foundation, EQT Foundation, Polar Structure, BackingMinds, and Zacua Ventures, as well as companies from the cement, construction, and real estate industries.
As we continue our journey of rapid expansion, Cemvision is seeking a Project Lead for Regulatory & Standardization—a pivotal role in our go-to-market strategy. This role will be instrumental in bringing our innovative and sustainable cement products to market by navigating the complex landscape of regulatory requirements and driving the establishment of new standards within the cement industry. Additionally, the role includes responsibility for ensuring the quality control of our production processes, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of excellence.
As Project Lead for Regulatory & Standardization, you will be responsible for ensuring that Cemvision's products meet all necessary regulatory, certification, and quality control requirements in the European market. You will also play a key role in advocating for new industry standards that promote sustainability and innovation in cement production.
This role is flexible, and we are open to candidates with two distinct profiles:
Industry Expertise: You have deep experience in the cement and concrete industry, with a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape, standardization processes, and quality assurance/control.
Lobbying & Advocacy: You are an expert in lobbying and influencing policy, with the ability to represent Cemvision at the highest levels, including in discussions with regulators, industry bodies, and academic leaders. You have a track record of driving change and setting new industry standards.
Key responsibilities:
Standardization Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive regulatory strategy for ultra-low CO2 cement products that aligns with the evolving regulatory landscape in the EU market.
Regulatory Compliance Management: Stay informed of all relevant EU, national, and private certification requirements, ensuring Cemvision's compliance at all times. This includes obtaining necessary certifications and approvals for product introductions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and industry experts, representing Cemvision in key discussions and ensuring that our sustainability and innovation efforts are recognized.
Innovation and Sustainability Advocacy: Actively participate in the development of new standards within the cement industry that promote environmental responsibility and product innovation.
Quality Control Management: Oversee the quality control processes in production, ensuring that all products meet stringent quality standards and follow best practices in production quality management.
We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about sustainability and driven to make an impact in the cement industry. Depending on your background, you might be:
An experienced professional in the concrete/construction materials industry with a strong foundation in regulatory compliance, standardization, and quality assurance/control, or
A skilled lobbyist and advocate with experience influencing industry standards and working with regulatory bodies to drive change.
Additionally, you should have:
A passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving change in the construction industry.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, including being flexible and adaptable to change.
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
EU citizenship or existing right to work in the EU is required.
What we offer
We offer a unique opportunity to disrupt and help shape the future of the cement industry. You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team of experts dedicated to creating a sustainable future for generations to come.
