Cemvision is looking for a Lab Assistant to join forces with us in our effort to advance the reduction of carbon emissions in the cement sector.

We’re currently on a journey to grow bigger, faster with the help of a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to join our team. This role is instrumental in supporting our R&D, by testing and product development activities, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our sustainable solutions.

🔬 About the role

As a Lab Assistant, you will work closely with our research & development team and technical sales, providing essential support in laboratory experiments, testing, and the development of cutting-edge green cement products. Your meticulous approach and hands-on expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of creating environmentally friendly construction materials. You will report to our Product & Innovation Lead and be a key team member.

Key responsibilities: 

• Lab Support: Assist in conducting experiments, tests, and analyses under the guidance of researchers, ensuring accurate data collection and reliable results.

• Sample Preparation: Prepare samples for testing, following precise protocols and maintaining meticulous records of procedures and outcomes.

• Equipment Operation: Operate laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring they are calibrated, clean, and functioning correctly to maintain the accuracy of tests.

• Data Analysis: Assist in analyzing data, interpreting results, and preparing reports summarizing findings for further research and development.

• Product Development: Contribute to the formulation and development of green cement products, collaborating with the team to enhance their quality and sustainability.

• Travel: CemVision performs cement and concrete products testing at several locations, both in Sweden and overseas. Travel will be required from time to time to support key research and customer support activities.

🧑‍🔬 What do you need to succeed?

To be successful, you should have a ‘no-problem-too-big’ attitude and be highly resourceful. This means a lot of drive, an analytical mindset, and being motivated by collaborating with others and getting things done.

We also think you have the following: 

• A Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field.

• Previous experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in R&D or product development roles.

• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, testing methodologies, and data analysis tools, preferably in the field of cement and concrete testing or similar materials.

• A detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to accuracy and precision.

• Passion for sustainable technologies and a desire to contribute to environmentally friendly solutions.
