Cemvision recognized by MIT Technology Review as one of the top Climate Tech Companies to Watch
Cemvision has been named one of MIT Technology Review’s 10 “Climate Tech Companies to Watch”, a global recognition highlighting the most promising innovations driving the transition to a low-carbon future.

The list showcases pioneering companies across sectors that are redefining how industries operate in the face of climate change. For Cemvision, the honor reflects its mission to decarbonize one of the world’s hardest-to-abate industries — cement production — through the use of circular raw materials, innovations in cement chemistry, and a fully electrified manufacturing process.

“To be named among MIT Technology Review’s Climate Tech Companies to Watch is validation that Cemvision’s model is both visionary and viable. We’re not just pioneering cleaner cement — we’re building a profitable, scalable pathway for the industry to follow,” says Oscar Hållén, CEO of Cemvision.

Cemvision’s technology replaces traditional limestone-based clinker with a circular production process, where industrial by-products replace newly extracted materials — eliminating process emissions while enabling fully electrified cement production.

The result is cement with up to 95% lower CO₂ emissions, while maintaining equivalent or better performance.

“Our innovation rethinks both the material and the production process. It proves that there’s a clear pathway to truly sustainable cement — not in the distant future, but today. And unlike CCS solutions that try to capture emissions after they’re created, we eliminate them from the start — without costly add-ons or retrofits,” says Claes Kollberg, Co-Founder and CTO of Cemvision.

The recognition from MIT Technology Review underscores the growing global momentum behind deep decarbonization in the construction sector and the critical role Cemvision is playing in leading that transformation.
